From the desk of Wally Dawkins, Athletic Director:

They grow up playing in the back yard against imaginary opponents while pretending to be the stars of their favorite pro or college team. 聽Before you know it, as a parent you are spending a couple of nights per week hanging out at the local field, park, or gym watching your child playing 鈥減eewee something or other鈥�.

You wake up one morning, wondering if you were just dreaming or did it really happen?聽 You know鈥� working the 91猫先生 Athletic Booster Club concession stand for three hours the night before while the Middle School Team played as you were not only selling popcorn and drinks, but videoing the game at the same time (that was not a dream鈥�it was actually a nightmare!).

All of a sudden鈥�it鈥檚 Senior Night, and the dreaded move off to college by your 鈥渂aby鈥� is now, just around the corner.

It happens to all of us.

At 91猫先生, the goal is to prepare all of our kids for college while they participate as multi-sport athletes, representing the 鈥淎LL ORANGE鈥� Guard on the field of play. 聽For many of our former student athletes, playing at the next level is not only a dream, it has become a reality.聽 For several more out of this year鈥檚 senior class, participating in college athletics is just around the corner.

Currently, several 91猫先生 alum that have helped The Guard win 10 TAPPS State Championships and appear in 14 additional State Final Fours over the past 6 years are now competing on the collegiate level.

Texas A & M Baseball has former BH stars J.B. Moss 鈥�2012 and A.J. Minter 鈥�12 not only on the roster, but playing on a daily basis for the SEC school and both are projected to be future pro draft picks.聽 91猫先生 Baseball is also well represented by Quinton Pile 鈥�13 who plays for Wofford, and Drew Robertson 鈥�13 is on the mound at TJC.

Washington State is the home of legendary Guard pigskin standout聽Tyler Baker 鈥�11 who scored over 100 touchdowns as a high school quarterback, and now starts at WR for the Cougars.

Hunter Shattuck 鈥�12 who was the State Boys Golf Medalist in 2012 for 91猫先生, is now a leading member of the Baylor Bear Varsity Golf Team.

Marisa Quevedo 鈥�14 won the TAPPS AAA Girls State Singles Tennis Title in 2014 for the Guard and now plays Division I Tennis for Seton Hall.

Recently, Heath Dickey 鈥�10 graduated after playing Offensive Tackle at NCAA D-I Georgetown and Brother Mason Dickey 鈥�13 is the starting Center on the O-Line for Fort Hays State. Austin Langemeier 鈥�12 is in his third year of varsity football at Wheaton, while Will Weathers 鈥�13 is playing running back at Abilene Christian and Grant Troxell 鈥�13 catches the pigskin for Norwich University in Vermont. 聽Former BH Soccer standout Caleb Latson鈥�13 is kicking the ball around at Mary Hardin-Baylor while Kendall Wells 鈥�14 is a standout soccer player at Dallas Baptist as is聽Kennedy Rose 鈥�14 for the Tyler Junior College Lady Apaches.聽Morgan Fore 鈥�14 plays softball at Mary Hardin-Baylor and Alyssa Eden 鈥�13 is on the volleyball court at Le Tourneau.聽 Logan Walters鈥�14 is throwing the shot put at Belhaven College after State Championship throws for the Guard in 2013 and 2014.

This year the Class of 2015 at 91猫先生 has seen Guard Left-handed pitcher Daniel Priddy sign with UT-San Antonio, and BH Volleyball star Samantha Anderson sign with Division I Central Arkansas.聽 Next week, a whole host of Guard standouts will sign on the dotted line to continue their play at the college level.聽 Football standouts聽Malik Alley, Ty Brown, and Eddie Briggs will sign with Midwestern State, Texas Lutheran, and Mary Hardin-Baylor respectively.聽 BH Soccer has Kyle Regester signing with College of the Ozarks, and Lady Guard Soccer standout Ari Assad has chosen TJC to display her abilities.

At 91猫先生, our student athletes represent their school in many ways other than just participating in athletics.聽 As coaches, we do our best to showcase each player鈥檚 abilities to college coaches nationwide, while promoting academic excellence and Christian character while they are attending BH.

After all, we are here to develop the potential of each student, and fortunately for many, the dream they first had in the back yard, or in the driveway, or playing at the park has become a reality.

We are very proud of all of our former student athletes who are currently playing at the next level, or soon will be.

And that鈥檚 another reason to be 鈥�ALL ORANGE鈥�All The Time鈥�!
