Sixth graders take a field trip to learn about rocks
Sixth graders attended the Gem and Mineral Show today at the Rose Garden Center. Students were treated to a gold panning demonstration and gem making demonstrations along with seeing many beautiful rocks, minerals and fossils. They even touched fossilized dinosaur poop. Students were in awe of the 鈥渇ood table鈥 which was made up of actual rocks and minerals that sometimes looked exactly like food items. A display of rocks that glow in the dark was a favorite of most. Finally, students were allowed to shop and purchases geodes which were cut open for them displaying beautiful crystals inside. It was a field trip that really rocks!
