Second graders test heat energy in science lab

Second grader is learning about heat energy and experimenting with an AA battery, aluminum foil and electrical wire. They started off holding one end of the aluminum foil wire against each battery pole with one hand. They continued to hold the aluminum foil wire against each battery pole and, after 10 seconds, touched the wire against the other hand. The wire continued to get hot and the battery started discharging (losing its power). Therefore, producing heat energy.
