Lower and middle schools compete in math olympics

The 91èÏÈÉú Junior Guard Scholars Math Team participated in the ACSI District Math Olympic Competition on Tuesday. Thirty one students represented 91èÏÈÉú in this math triathlon. Each division consisted of three 11-minute rounds of competition. Like all good athletes, these students either came early or did extra practice to prepare for the contest. Most of them completed each round with time to spare. Answer sheets have been mailed in to district headquarters for grading. Now we wait to see if anyone advances to regionals in January. Regionals will put our students in grade level contests with schools from 6 states: Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. The Math Wizards will find out the results in late December.

Lower School Wizards: Riley-Jane McCord, Cooper Vilade, Camden Wilson, Kenadi Carmichael, Brian Freeman, Caed Reed, Garrott Gandy, Aleshia Johnson, Lily Jones, Terry Kim, Beck Langemeier, Landon Reynolds, Colton Richards, David Sims, Drew Sims, and Reed Overbeek.

Middle School Wizards: Callie Bailey, David Weisberg, Nate Dahn, Noah Langemeier, Luke Graves, Josh Collins, Marlee Gunter, John Engelhardt, Owen Funk, Connor Carson, Mattie Cheatham, Boston Durrett, TyJuan Cannon, Landry Graves, and Emily Livesay.
