A Lesson in Latitude from a Real Pilot!
Mrs. Bickerstaff鈥檚 5th grade class was honored to have Mr. Patrick Fitzgerald, father to our Caley, as a teacher guest this week. Mr. Fitzgerald is a pilot for the Wheels Up Company. Since our class learned about how to use latitude and longitude to find places on the Earth, we thought it would be cool to see that knowledge in action in the real world. Mr. Fitzgerald gave the class real life situations where they would need to know where they were, where they were headed, and the best route to get there. That is what latitude and longitude do for us! Mr. Fitzgerald is also a veteran and we really appreciate his service to our country!
