Karl Marx in Dr. Brunson’s class this week
Dr. Brunson鈥檚 AP Humanities class emphasizes both written and spoken eloquence so, with every essay they write, students must deliver spoken formal presentations of their essays (without notes) in business attire. Most recently, the class focused on Charles Dickens鈥 Hard Times as a fictional metaphor of the Industrial Revolution. Karl Marx (Ty Overbeek) also made a special appearance which added some humor to the lectures. The students above did their written and formal presentations on the following topics:
Noah Engelhardt- 鈥淭he Decline of Religion and Beauty in the Industrial Revolution Illustrated by Architecture鈥
Bailey Gunter 鈥 鈥淔ading Faith in the Industrial Revolution鈥
Alan Zhu 鈥 鈥淭he Violent and Barbarous Imperialism of Great Britain in the Opium Wars鈥
Lori Wise 鈥 鈥淩ampant Diseases and Emerging Treatments in the Industrial Revolution鈥
Mikayla Willis 鈥 鈥淭he Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and Romanticism in Nature鈥
Ty Overbeek 鈥撀犫淭en Planks of the Communist Manifesto.鈥
