It is Only September
From the desk of Celia Tucker, Academic Counselor:
It is only September and look what we have already celebrated:
- Students beginning to earn college credit by registering with Tyler Junior College for Dual Credit classes (registration for Colorado Christian University coming soon)
- 12 seniors being named to the over 60 member Texas Bank and Trust Student Board of Directors (one even being elected secretary)
- Seniors sitting down for one on one meetings with Mrs. Tucker and Mrs. Bouwer to chart progress as to the college application process
- Senior Seminar classes on “The College Application Process” and “Choosing a Major”
- The first edition of “The 91èÏÈÉú Senior” and “The 91èÏÈÉú Monthly Dates and Dollars” going out to seniors and their families to provide information about local scholarship opportunities, colleges who will be visiting campus, and reminders about how to take control and stay  right on top of their college search and the place the Lord wants them to be next year–what a comfort knowing God is in control.
- Seniors enjoying Friday treats in the Academic Office Senior Lounge Area
- Colleges and Universities visiting on campus to personally answer questions for students
- College acceptances and scholarship offers already coming in
- Junior (October), Sophomore (January), and Freshman (January)Â college trips being planned and details being worked out
- C4 Event (Career Exploration Seminar sponsored by The Chamber of Commerce) applications coming out for juniors (which will give them such a head start on preparing college application materials if they will apply to attend)
And it is only September…
