91èÏÈÉú

Founder’s Day

From the desk of Rod Fletcher, Headmaster:

This past week, our school celebrated our 20th year of existence at Founder’s Day. It was a beautiful evening as we enjoyed dinner on the grounds, heard from the always amazing Lower School Cadet Singers, praised the Lord with the Bullard Southern Praise team that is comprised of some of our own faculty and staff as well as listened to a beautiful song from our outstanding choir and orchestra who were joined by some of our talented alumni. We were also encouraged by Mr. Lee Strobel to continue the important job of standing up for our faith and staying strong in the effort to educate our students with a Biblical Worldview.

Heather and I were honored to receive Guardian Award, and we are still overwhelmed with gratitude. This is an annual award, and as Heather and I looked at the names of the honorees who have come before us, we were incredibly thankful for each of them – their generosity and tremendous commitment to students, to Christ-centered education, and most of all, to God. Heather and I are humbled to be included in the list of Guardian Award Recipients.

It has been a great honor for us to serve this school. Over the past 13 years, we have poured our lives into 91èÏÈÉú. It’s often hard for us to find where 91èÏÈÉú stops and the Fletcher family begins, but we would not have it any other way. 91èÏÈÉú is our life. Our mission. Our passion. It’s what we do. We have grown up with 91èÏÈÉú and are proud of the school that it has become. I am thankful to Heather for walking this path with me and “going where I go.” Anyone who knows us knows that we are a team and that just like I need Heather, 91èÏÈÉú needs her too. We are also thankful for our three sons and are proud of how they are navigating the path of being the Headmaster’s kids.

91èÏÈÉú has come so far in 20 years. As we read about Christian schools across the country struggling, and even closing, it is encouraging to be part of a vibrant, thriving, growing school. Innovation, creativity and excellence have definitely been characteristics of 91èÏÈÉú. We are constantly growing, adapting and discovering new ways to impact, train and challenge students. 91èÏÈÉú has been a model for great Christian education, and the past 20 years have been very exciting.

As I look ahead, I am extremely excited about the next twenty years and beyond – the opportunities are endless. I envision a campus that is fully built to provide students with a tremendous education. I envision a fine arts building finishing off the Upper School Quad. I envision innovative programs in the arts, athletics and academics. But most of all, I clearly see a school that holds the line when it comes to teaching students the truth in a culture that is bent on teaching them lies. This has always been the 91èÏÈÉú way, and we are committed to continuing that high standard as we launch into the future.

May God continue to bless 91èÏÈÉú as we seek to train students to Live Pure, Speak True, Right Wrong, Serve Others and Follow King Jesus.
