Environmental science students examine leaves on a beautiful day
The AP Environmental Science class learned about different leaf shapes, arrangements, margins and venation in class. In order to put that knowledge to the test, they went outside to collect leaves that meet the specifications of each category. The students collected examples of three different types of compound leaves, seven leaf shapes, three leaf arrangements on the stem, three types of venation and four different margins or edges.
“I hope that they gained an appreciation for the variety of leaves and plants that God created in the world around us,” Mr. Bunger said.
