Dinner Theatre Auditions
Glenn Ballard, Fine Arts Director, hosted auditions for our Annual Fall Dinner Theatre this week. This year’s show will be “Shrew” and it is based on “The Taming of The Shrew” by Shakespeare.
Mr. Ballard doesn’t look at auditions in an interesting light. Rather than simply having students perform their auditions, Mr. Ballard uses them as a teaching opportunity. Students will stand up to perform, but at times Mr. Ballard will stop them, slow them down, and take time to help students with inflections. Throughout the process, Mr. Ballard teaches his students what directors will look for, and coaches them in how to perfect their audition.
