College, Coffee and Conversation
From the desk of Celia Tucker, Academic Counselor:
Parents of 8th, 9th, and 10th graders met for 鈥淐ollege, Coffee, and Conversation鈥 this week as they discussed the college application process and how to advise their students to be preparing now for what will be coming later. Knowing now 聽that colleges will require an 聽application, test scores, transcripts, letters of recommendations, and essays, etc., allows students and parents time to research, record, practice, and plan so that the senior year does not have to be so stressful. The sweetest words faculty and staff 聽hear are when former 91猫先生 students come back from their freshman year of college and say, 鈥 91猫先生 classes were harder than my college classes鈥. When talking to Ginger Bell recently I told her about visiting with a former student at church who was home for the weekend. I asked him how things were going and he said that 91猫先生 had done a wonderful job of preparing him for college. He then paused and said, 鈥淭he only thing 91猫先生 doesn鈥檛 do is prepare you for leaving 91猫先生鈥濃 had to get Ginger Bell a box of Kleenex鈥
