Expanding Vocabulary in 2nd Grade

Second graders read the book, The Courage of Sarah Noble. While reading this historical fiction novel, students used dictionary skills to find unfamiliar words to share with the class. This is the first of many dictionary activities that we will use this semester in second grade to expand our students’ vocabularies!

Christmas at the Lower School

We had Christmas parties galore at the lower school this week! Students went on scavenger hunts, had pajama and pancake parties, learned about how different countries celebrate Christmas around the world, and celebrated the past, present, and future coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Interviewing Veterans in 5th Grade

Gingerbread Science

Why didn’t the gingerbread man want to get wet?? Well we had our theories. He would sink, get soggy, his icing would wash off or he might even break apart.  So we put him in the water and we watched.  We determined he got very soggy.

Cadet Singer Banquet
