Students help the Salvation Army receive donations at local stores

December 16, 2016

The second graders took a field trip and rang the Salvation Army bell on Wednesday. Students split up and took their 2-hour posts at Brookshire’s, Walgreen’s, Chick-Fil-A and Fresh. With their Santa hats securely on, they sang Christmas carols and danced around in order to receive donations in their designated red kettle.

Pre-K & Kindergarten perform during chapel

This week at chapel, students in Lower School strings performed Christmas tunes, and Pre-K and Kindergarten classes presented their program that was previously postponed. Chapel capped off with the song “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” and Mrs. Larios reading a Christmas story.

Elf ears and Santa hats spotted at the Lower School

The first graders sported their pajamas to class on Thursday for their last day of school. They drank hot chocolate, made ornaments and marshmallow snow men and wore silly hats with elf ears.

Kindergarten takes a field trip to Plantation Pines

The Kindergarten classes wrapped up their week in the brisk December air at Plantation Pines CHRISTmas Tree Farm. They got to listen to a story, eat popcorn, take a hay ride and play relay games while many parents mingled around the fire.

Lower School learns about paying it forward at Christmas

The fourth and fifth grade got to present their Christmas program to their peers at Chapel this week as well as their family and friends on Thursday night. In this performance, the audience was able to learn about the importance of giving and how Christ gave his son for us.

Kindergarten makes gingerbread houses

In a continuation of holiday festivities, Kindergarten classes made gingerbread houses on Friday with some special visitors. The kids were able to decorate their house with an entire tub of icing all to themselves and a wide assortment of colorful decorations including pretzels, peppermints, marshmallows and M&Ms.

Grandparents come to the Lower School

Pirates sail through the Lower School hallways

To kick off the Lower School book far this week, many of our students and teachers dressed up as pirates and paraded around the perimeter of the gym. They each got a bookmark to celebrate and learn that books are a treasure.
