Third graders went to Austin State Bank in Jacksonville on Wednesday to deliver and count the pennies they have been collecting. The brought jugs of pennies with about $50 each inside of them. Kindergarten learns about rocks and soil

This week students at the Lower School were learning about rocks and soil. They collected cups of soil and searched for living and nonliving parts of the soil.

Second graders study axles in LEGO club

March 24, 2017

Second grade library LEGO club students built models of cars with single and double axles. Then these pint-sized engineers tested the models to determine which type of axle allowed for the easiest steering.

More students awarded at the Lower School

These students received technology awards for completing their “Hour of Code” assignment. Camden Wilson, Braxton Durrett, Dylan Outz, Landon Reynolds, and Kenadi Carmichael. In addition, Kenadi also received an award for third place in the Math Olympics reasoning category. Congratulations to these students.

Fourth grade in the American Freedom Museum

This week fourth graders took a field trip to the American Freedom Museum for a Texas history lesson. After their tour, they went back into the museum with Bingo cards to apply and search for facts of what they had just learned.

Water and waffles in Pre-K

Mrs. Brindley was all about making Oobleck with second graders in honor of Dr. Seuss’s Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Oobleck is an example of a non-Newtonian fluid and is both a liquid and solid.
