For the competition, students read a book and then created a pumpkin from a character in the book. Students painted, glued, and attached all kinds of objects to create the perfect pumpkins. 6th Grade Density Lab

6th graders experimented with ant saliva, bat blood, creepy cola, vampire tears and dragon juice.  They were observing the different densities of these common liquids which had fun names.  After trial and error, the students found the correct order to drop the liquids in where they layered by their densities.

3rd Grade World Series of Math

Mrs. Newsom’s and Mrs. Bickerstaff’s third graders held a math competition to celebrate the World Series. They created a bar graph to chart their progress each day. To celebrate all the learning they did, baseball cookies, courtesy of Mrs. Durrett, were enjoyed. You could say both the learning and cookies were big hits!
