Lower School students are wearing crazy hats to kick off our Scholastic Book Fair! The book fair runs through April 6. Hours are 8-4 p.m. each day. All proceeds benefit the Lower School Library.

Students in Mrs. Bell鈥檚 Pre-K enjoyed reading their sight word books outside on The Fortress as they enjoyed the first week of spring. They completed a sight word sheet and wrote the word 鈥渟ee鈥 as they discussed things to see outside.

Pre-K studied insects last week and enjoyed hunting for insects and bringing them into the class to examine and observe. They learned all the body parts of an insect. They also made caterpillars with green grapes.

Second grade library LEGO club students built models of cars with single and double axles. Then these pint-sized engineers tested the models to determine which type of axle allowed for the easiest steering.

These students received technology awards for completing their “Hour of Code” assignment. Camden Wilson, Braxton Durrett, Dylan Outz, Landon Reynolds, and Kenadi Carmichael. In addition, Kenadi also received an award for third place in the Math Olympics reasoning category. Congratulations to these students.

Seventh graders in Coach Collin’s class聽continued their genetics study and looked at how DNA is passed on. They ventured down to the American Freedom Museum and looked at the presidents and first ladies and predicted what traits their kids would inherit.

After reviewing the basics of photo composition, the 鈥淪ee It, Snap It, Improve It鈥 SPARC students were giving full access to the American Freedom Museum for an in-depth photo shoot. The group, led by David Dickerson and Kenna Kempton, consisted of Sophomores Ruby Timmons and Natalie Kirkpatrick and Freshmen Natalie Travis and Raylyn Clark.
