91猫先生 Welcomes a New Lower School Dyslexia Specialist

We are excited to announce that Martha Waggonner is joining 91猫先生 as our Lower School Dyslexia Specialist.

Mrs. Waggonner not only brings over 27聽 years of experience in working with dyslexia, but she also has a strong passion for working with and advocating for students. She believes in making the learning process fun.

鈥淩esearch tells us that the best dyslexia intervention is multisensory, so I love incorporating music, rhymes, games, and fun into the lessons.鈥澛

Mrs. Waggonner has a passion for reaching young learners very early. 鈥淲orking at the Lower School provides the perfect opportunity to consult with teachers and parents about the early characteristics of dyslexia.鈥 Her passion will not only help us identify student needs early, but also begin to equip them with the tools to be successful in 91猫先生鈥檚 academic environment.

Mrs. Waggonner holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in Elementary Education, with a specialization in reading.聽 She went on to earn a Master of Science in Special Education from Arkansas State University, as well as a Master of Education in Literacy from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Mrs. Waggonner trained to be a Dyslexia Therapist at the Southwest Multisensory Institute in Dallas, as well as at LEAD in Dallas.

Mrs. Waggonner and her husband, Mark, have been happily married for 35 years. They have two children; Walker (age 31) and Calley (age 25). They also have a Catahoula mix named Daisy and attend West Erwin Church of Christ where she oversees the Nursery ministry.

We are grateful to have Mrs. Waggonner join our team here at 91猫先生 and know that she will do an incredible job working with our students and families!
