From the desks of Suzan Chadwell and Brandi Franks, 91猫先生 Nurses:

Inspectors from The State Health Department recently spent the day on the 91猫先生 Campus to review our Immunizations and our Health Program. We are required to submit an annual report to the State regarding our Immunizations, Vision, Hearing and Spine Screening. We are proud to announce that we passed our inspection with flying colors. In fact, not one deficiency was found.

Through the faithful work of our School Health Advisory Council, our 鈥淣urse鈥檚 Office鈥� has evolved into an outstanding School Health Program. Our policies are based on the requirements set forth by the state of Texas, the positions of The National School Nurse Association and evidence based guidelines for optimum care of children and adolescents in a school setting. Experienced, Registered Nurses are evaluating and caring for our students daily on both campuses. All of that is offered in a Christ-centered, caring environment with a goal of keeping well students in class and preventing the spread of illnesses by early identification of students who may need care at home or by a physician.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind 91猫先生 parents and students to take full advantage of this wonderful service. Students who are not feeling well at school should be evaluated by the School Nurse prior to calling their parents to pick them up. We follow a detailed Health and Wellness protocol that consistently involves parents in the decision making process. The Nurse may be able to offer an intervention that enables a student to feel better quickly and remain at school. In the best interest of our older students, we鈥檇 like to remind parents that it is never a good idea for a sick student to drive themselves home.

The Lord has sustained our Health Program through many changes over the last couple of years. There have been new forms to fill out and new rules to follow for our parents and students. We want to thank you for rolling with us on this adventure to upgrade our services. Progress cannot occur without change and the journey is never over. We feel humbled and blessed to serve our students and we will continue to strive for excellence every day. Our School Health Program is another reason why 91猫先生 is a one-of-a-kind school.
