6th Grade Weaves
6th graders are busy weaving with textiles and fibers to create unique wall hangings. Students started the art piece by writing a favorite memory or experience. Then students associated a color with different parts of their story. For example, a day at the beach would likely  include blue to represent the water, tan to represent the sand and yellow to represent the sun. One creative student made his wall hanging a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!  Super creative! Finally, students began weaving their stories. Personal connections to one’s art work makes the work more meaningful to the artist.
