6th Grade Art Makes Sculptures

Sixth聽grade art has been studying about artist Helen Cordero a Pueblo Indian, and her famous Storyteller of 1964 in slipped and painted earthenware. Codero鈥檚 art was about how 聽the role of storytellers 聽preserved the history of the Pueblo Indians. They are making their own contemporary version of a 鈥渟toryteller鈥� in order to introduce them to ceramics and at the same time learning 聽about how a storyteller impacts the way that history and stories are transferred to the young in our culture today.
