3rd Grade Observes Immigrants become US Citizens
91èÏÈÉú’s Lower School Third Graders went to a naturalization ceremony on Wednesday, April 6. The ceremony was held in the federal courthouse in downtown Tyler. There were 40 new citizens being honored in the ceremony. One of the new citizens was one of our own – Wentzel Bouwer whose country of origin was South Africa. He came and introduced himself after the ceremony finished. Wentzel graduated from 91èÏÈÉú in the first graduating class! What an extra surprise and blessing for us!
Our third graders wrote opinion essays about why living in America was great and created cards for the new citizens. We included the essay and a patriotic lapel pin with each card.
