2nd Grade Studies Worms & Johnny Appleseed
Living and Non-Living Worms
In second grade, students have been learning about living and non-living things. Last week students in Mrs. Culpepper and Mrs. Brashier’s class observed living earthworms and non-living gummy worms. Students noticed similarities and differences of the two types of worms. As students noticed characteristics, they took notes and collaborated as a class to come up with facts and needs about the two worms. Students were able to take what they learned and create a venn diagram. Afterward students were able to eat the worms!!! The gummy worms of course!
Johnny Appleseed Day
Second grade celebrated Johnny Appleseed’s birthday (September 26th) by bringing different kinds of Apple snacks. They even made heir own applesauce. All week long they have studied the tall tale. Check out their bulletin board to see some of their original work.
