Widening Educational Horizons
From the desk of Shawn Rhoads, director of Residential Life:
You already know about the many, amazing advantages that 91猫先生 affords all of its students, both while they attend 91猫先生 and after they graduate. But maybe you did not know that among those advantages is that your children get to attend classes with students from twenty-three different nations. Imagine that! So, for example, if your student wanted to, they could not only learn math, science and history/English, they could also learn how to say 鈥淗ello鈥 in French (the language of Congo), or 鈥淧lease鈥 in Portuguese (the language of Angola) or 鈥淕ood bye鈥 in Urdu (the language of Pakistan), or 鈥淭hank you鈥 in Mandarin (one of the languages in China). They could learn about the island culture of Micronesia or what school is like in Nigeria. Or how about how to address an older person in Korea versus a younger person. What is life like in Kenya or Rwanda? What is the most common dish in the Ukraine?
The point is this: there are multiple educations taking place simultaneously at any given moment in the halls and classrooms of 91猫先生. When you drive onto campus it is quite literally like you are driving into twenty-three different lands, all at the same time. How cool is that? If you have not already done so, please encourage your children to take advantage of this extremely rare opportunity that no other school in East Texas offers. Adios!
